Do you think Jesus wanted us to exchange gifts on Christmas ... NO ... Santa did. Stop worrying about what language the retailers use. Just because you want to save a buck the christian way.

Seriously, maybe it is time for me to go back to church. I will go back and complain the whole time. I will talk about how I feel the church is unfair and not right. I will be extremely verbal on MY belief's. I will be disruptive during sermons because I think I'm right. BECAUSE I AM. Let's see how long they allow me to attend.
(They will know we are Christians by our [love]) .... and judgement.

Josh, I agree and disagree. I don’t have a problem with the word “holiday”. It means “Holy Day” anyhow and I certainly don’t find that offensive. Beyond that saying “holiday” seeks to include people of other traditions with holidays near the same time. The problem I have is not that other people have different beliefs it’s that no one would ever think to try and change the meaning of Ross Shoshanna. You’d never hear someone on TV saying “The real meaning of Ross Shoshanna is______” and then they just make up their own meaning and try to pass it off as it that is the actual religious meaning. But this is exactly what people do with Christmas. I have to be honest. It bothers me a lot when the secular world tries to tell me what my religious holiday is about. Christmas is not about “giving” or “spending time with your family”. Those are great things and it’s great that people seem to do these things this time of year. But… that’s not celebrating Christmas. (It also bothers me a little that everyone gets Christmas off of work be they Christians or not – hey I don’t get Eid Al-Fitr off of work; nor should I).
At the same time, Christians need to remember a few things:
1) Christmas was placed on top of a pagan celebration. We don’t own the day.
2) Nowhere in the Bible are we even told to Celebrate Christmas at all (only Good Friday and Easter) and certainly not the way we “celebrate” today.

I also have no problem with "Happy Holidays". Like ha kohen said, "holiday" = "holy day". I do have a problem with Christians who bitch and moan about the fact few people say "Merry Christmas" anymore, as if Christians are the only people who live on this earth that matter. Can you say "entitlement issues"?
I think it's funny that Christians think Christmas is about Christianity, rather than the blend of paganism/Christianity/general cold-weather merrymaking that it really is. So people can define it as whatever the hell they want. Christians don't really "own" Christmas the same way Jews own Jewish holidays. It's not really Jesus' birthday anyway. *shrugs*
The sooner Xians learn that they can't control what other people choose to focus on when celebrating the holidays, the sooner we'll all be able to have a little peace on earth.

This is just more X'n counterculture division. Personally, I have no problem with a X'n boycotting a magazine that says "Holiday". That's their right. They even have the right to put it on X'n TV.
